Our animal family is very important to us. There are the sheep who graze the grassland and meadows helping to reseed them each year and encouraging diversity of species of wildflower and insect life; Molly, Peter, Celia, Dinky, Mary, Victoria, Rose, Ivy, Frank, Myrtle, Arnold and Darcy.
We have two donkeys – George and Buttons who live a charmed life in a huge field and are endlessly curious about the day-to-day life on the farm.
We have Sid the goat – a patriarch of the farm now at 13 years old. Then there’s the playful pygmy goats – Bilbo, Frodo, Pippin, Jerry and Margot; our two wonderful pigs Percy and Sue; some chickens and some ducks to add to the mix too! And last but not least we have two boisterous bouncy Boxer dogs – Tilly and Mungo and the small but mighty Mabel the Border Terrier who is boss of us all. We often like to offer guests the opportunity to come and meet the farm animals at feeding time.
The activity is weather dependent and during the wetter months when there is too much mud around it’s simply not possible.
If we can offer a session during your stay we mark up the time on the blackboard in the farm shop and provided you’re wearing wellies (compulsory) you can join in.
Of course you’re welcome to wander around the farm and explore the landscape around you. If you’re keen walkers (or simply want to head for the village pub) we can provide you with maps and point you in the right direction!
From time to time we have additional activities on offer – keep an eye on our news page to see what else might be going on.
